Veterinary Osteopathy is a manual therapy that treats the body as a whole.
Osteopathy says: MOVEMENT IS LIFE
Osteopathy was born in 1875 in the U.S. with dr. Andrew Still.
The principles of osteopathy are:
- The principle of holism
- The relationship between function and structure
- The importance of body homeostais
- The possibility of the body to heal itself
- Arterial rule: the importance of the circulation of body fluids and the importance of the innervation of the circulation
- The somatic component of disease
There are three types of osteopathy:
- Parietal bone disease
- Visceral osteopathy
- Craniosacral osteopathy
These three branches are fully intercorrelated and to have an optimal effect of treatment, the animal must receive osteopathic treatment in its entirety.
