Veterinary Chiropractic is a profession, a phylosophy, a passion and a vocation. It is very important in the animal healthcare.

Chiropractic treats the vertebral subluxation complex with an adjustment.

The adjustment is an impulse, with specific direction, high speed, low amplitude to a specific joint.

The Foundation of chiropractic is based on the intimate relationship between the spine and nervous system and the role of the spinal column in the biomechanics and the movement of the animal.

With the adjustment, we stimulate receptors found in and around the joint. Stimulating these receptors, we send correct information to the central nervous system. This in turn responds by sending correct output to the effector organs and lowers the pain and improves the movement of the affected joint and related structures.

But apart from the neurological point of view, chirorpactic stimulates the innate intelligence, the innate recuperative power of the animal. Every animal has the capacity to heal itself, as long as the spine and the vertebral column are free from interference. Animal chiropractors check the spine for subluxations and adjust them, in order to free the spine and let innate do its work.

The doctor in human chiropractic (DC) is the person who has studied for 5 years in the university doctor of chiropractic. The study consists of about 4500 hours of theoretical education and practical experience.

As the title of chiropractic is not recognized by the Ministry of Education in Europe, there are many problems with courses that teach chiropractic.

Thus, for animal welfare, it is imperative that the person exercising animal chiropractic is a veterinarian with knowledge of the profession of chiropractic or a D.C. who has education in animal chiropractic.
